Fractional CCO

A Fractional Chief Communications Officer (CCO) provides senior-level communications leadership on a flexible basis. This role ensures that communications is aligned with organisational goals, clearly positioned, and consistently executed across campaigns, content, media, and events.

I work closely with leadership teams to define communications priorities, strengthen narrative and positioning, and guide decision-making. This includes ensuring that communications is involved early in strategic discussions, not just at the point of delivery.

A key part of this role is improving how communications teams operate. Many organisations have capable junior staff but lack structure, clarity, and senior oversight. I provide guidance, feedback, and systems that help teams deliver higher-quality outputs more consistently.

This approach helps organisations move from fragmented communications activity to a coordinated, strategic function that builds visibility, strengthens credibility, and drives real-world outcomes.

OUTPUT INCLUDES:

STRATEGIC DIRECTION & PRIORITISATION

Definition of clear communications priorities aligned with organisational goals, including guidance on what to focus on, what to stop, and how to allocate resources effectively.

CAMPAIGN & VISIBILITY OVERSIGHT

Guidance and validation of key communications initiatives, including campaigns, events, and thought leadership, ensuring they are aligned, well-timed, and designed to deliver impact.

NARRATIVE, CONTENT & MEDIA POSITIONING

Ongoing refinement of messaging and positioning to ensure a clear and consistent narrative across leadership, campaigns, digital channels, and media engagement.

TEAM ENABLEMENT & SYSTEMS

Structured support to strengthen internal communications teams, including review of outputs, coaching, and implementation of practical systems such as content workflows, repurposing approaches, and AI-supported standards.
